An 89-year-old woman was killed in a crash Monday in north suburban unincorporated Zion.

She was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan about 12:15 p.m. when it pulled forward from a stop sign on northbound Kenosha Road at Russell Road, the Lake County sheriff’s office said in a statement. A box truck heading east on Russell slammed into the driver’s side of the minivan.

The woman was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where she died later Monday afternoon, sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Christopher Covelli said. The 69-year-old man driving the truck was not hurt.
