The city of Chicago will host two interview days to help fill some of the more than 4,000 seasonal jobs expected UPS Inc. is expected to fill this year.
The packaging-delivery company has said it will hire up to 95,000 seasonal workers nationwide, an increase of about 10,000 from last year.
UPS to use other stores as package pickup spots
The mayor’s office announced Wednesday two interview days to identify candidates for about 300 jobs as delivery drivers and tractor-trailer drivers. The first interview day will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Truman College, 1145 W. Wilson Ave. The second event will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Olive-Harvey College, 10001 S. Woodlawn Ave.

“By bringing together transportation and logistics businesses with Chicago’s trained workforce, we can drive growth in this industry and in the city,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a news release. “This is an opportunity for UPS to have a direct impact on job creation and growing the Chicago-area economy.”
