A man was shot during a robbery Friday in Lawndale on the West Side.
About 5:38 p.m., the 28-year-old was approached by an unknown male who pulled out a handgun and demanded property in the 3300 block of West 16th Street, Chicago police said.
The man handed over some items to the robber who then opened fire before running off, police said.
The man was hit in the hip area and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. His condition was stabilized.
No arrests have been reported. Area Central detectives are investigating.
