Woman wounded in Woodlawn shooting

She was parking her vehicle in the 6200 block of South Rhodes Avenue when gunfire rang out, police said.

A 36-year-old woman was shot Sunday in Woodlawn on the South Side.

She was parking her vehicle about 11:59 p.m. in the 6200 block of South Rhodes Avenue when someone unleashed gunfire, striking her in the arm, Chicago police said. The woman drove herself to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

She didn’t see where the gunfire came from, police said. Investigators don’t know if she was the intended target.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
