Chicago police are investigating after someone smashed the window of a store Feb. 28, 2020, in the first block of West Madison Street in the Loop.

Someone smashed the window of a store Friday in the Loop.

The male entered the retail business after shattering a glass panel about 10:15 p.m. in the first block of West Madison Street, according to Chicago police.

The suspect ran away after being spotted by witnesses, police said. No merchandise was taken.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
