A 16-year-old girl was wounded in a shooting Tuesday in Jeffery Manor on the South Side.

She was on the sidewalk about 3 p.m. on East 99th Street when someone approached her and shot her in the leg, Chicago police said.

The teen was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area Two detectives investigate.
