One man was killed and another wounded Tuesday night in the West Town neighborhood.

They were near a sidewalk in the 1800 block of West Maypole Avenue when they were shot about 7 p.m., Chicago police said.

A 32-year-old man was hit several times and was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as Richard Strong.

Another man, 49, was grazed in the head and was treated at the scene by paramedics, according to police.

No one was in custody.
