Woman found dead in South Shore home

Police initially reported she suffered head injuries but an autopsy determined she died of a gunshot wound to the head.

A woman was found dead inside a South Shore home Monday evening,

Bridgette Myles, 58, was found unresponsive inside a residence in the 7200 block of South Jeffery Boulevard and pronounced dead at the scene, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Police initially reported she suffered head injuries but an autopsy determined she died of a gunshot wound to the head. The medical examiner’s office ruled her death a homicide.

No one has been arrested.
