Radio Waves: George Desort on ``Fifty Lakes One Island''

SHARE Radio Waves: George Desort on ``Fifty Lakes One Island''

It is the rebroadcast of George Desort talking about Isle Royale, aloneness in the wilds and doing nature documentaries this afternoon on “Outside.’`

The show captured some of my favorite themes and interests in life well enough to already be a rebroadcast.

His second documentary, “Fifty Lakes One Island,” was released earlier this year and I was mighty impressed with how well it captured an intense extended period alone in the wilds.

I really enjoyed our discussion on making the decision about whether to live removed in the wilds and go to the urban area or live in the urban area and withdraw to the wilds.

That is one of the key push-pull for some of us.

“Outside” airs from 4:30-5 p.m. Mondays on WKCC-FM (91.1) in Kankakee. The rebroadcasts are at 8:30 a.m. on Saturdays.
