A Maywood man was killed and a teenager was injured in a shooting in the East Garfield Park neighborhood Sunday night.

At 8:06 p.m., officers who were responding to a call of shots fired saw an armed male near West Maypole Avenue and North Homan Avenue, police said. A foot chase ensued and shots were fired by officers, but no one was struck, police said.

Further investigation revealed two shooting victims in the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue, police said. A 46-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:25 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The man has been identified as Arron Feazell of the 1400 block of South 10th Street in Maywood, the medical examiner’s office said.

The second victim, a 17-year-old with gunshot wounds to both legs and his hand, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
