Green, Pink Line trains suspended after fire reported near tracks

Service on the CTA’s Green and Pink lines was temporarily suspended overnight after a fire was reported near the tracks on the Near West Side, but no fire was actually found.

The Chicago Fire Department received multiple calls shortly before midnight about a fire near the CTA tracks near Lake Street, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said. However, crews were dispatched and no actual fire was located.

Train service was suspended because of the reports of a fire about 12:15 a.m., according to the CTA. Service on both lines was resuming with residual delays by 1 a.m.
