A 22-year-old man was shot multiple times and seriously wounded Saturday morning in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 5:25 a.m. in the 8500 block of South Morgan Street, according to Chicago police. The man was in the driver’s seat of his vehicle when an unknown vehicle pulled alongside him, with someone firing several shots.

The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds below his waist and was transported to Saint Bernard Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating the shooting.
