A 40-year-old woman was seriously wounded in a shooting late Friday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

She was sitting in a parked vehicle just after 11 p.m. in the 4400 block of West Jackson when shots rang out, according to Chicago Police.

She was shot in the head and went to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
