There was never any doubt about Kyle Schwarber’s tape-measure home run in Game 4 of the NLDS on Tuesday. No, the only mystery surrounding the mammoth blast was “where’s the ball!?”

Some seam-head sleuthing discovered the ball perched above the video scoreboard in right field. But was THAT the ball?

The Cubs went up and investigated, found the NLDS watermark, and the legend of The Schwarball atop The Schwarboard is born.

The Cubs took great care to preserve the ball in its original landing spot on Wednesday afternoon, encasing it in a Plexiglas display. Take a look at this video provided by the Cubs:
