Northbound CTA Red Line trains will run express between the Sheridan and Howard stops this weekend.

From 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Sunday, the trains will bypass the 10 stops in between as crews perform track work for the Purple Express improvement project and the Wilson station renovation, according to the CTA. Southbound trains won’t be affected.

Howard-bound customers at Wilson, Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, Granville, Loyola, Morse or Jarvis stations will need to take a 95th-bound train to Sheridan and then transfer to a Howard-bound train. Anyone who wants to get off at one of the affected stations will have to go to Howard and transfer to a 95th-bound train.

The CTA suggests the 22 Clark, 36 Broadway, 147 Outer Drive Express and 151 Sheridan buses as alternatives, which run parallel to the Red Line.
