A female Cook County sheriff’s correctional officer has been charged with custodial sexual misconduct for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a Cook County Jail inmate.

Lotisha Myers, 47, was arrested Wednesday after a weeklong internal investigation by the sheriff’s office.

Myers had phone conversations with “sexual connotations” with the inmate in Division II and admitted to touching and kissing the man’s penis, according to an arrest report.

“It was a stupid mistake,” Myers’ attorney Robert Habib said at her bond hearing Thursday.

Myers was released on her own recognizance.

Myers, who had worked with the sheriff’s office since 2003, has resigned, officials said.

Custodial sexual misconduct is a Class 3 felony.
