A 70-year-old man died one month after he was struck by a vehicle in west suburban Oak Park.

Charles J. Owens was crossing the street in a crosswalk at Augusta and Austin in Oak Park on Feb. 23 when he was struck by a vehicle, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Owens, of the 700 block of North Hayes in Oak Park, died at Kindred Hospital Chicago-Northlake at 10:10 a.m. Monday, exactly one month after the crash, according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Tuesday found he died of complications of multiple injuries from a vehicle striking him, and his death was ruled an accident.

It was not immediately known if any citations or charges were filed in connection with the crash.
