A man was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured early Sunday in west suburban Naperville.

The 43-year-old man was crossing Route 59 at Brookdale Road about 12:50 a.m. when he was struck in the intersection by a black 2011 Honda heading south on Route 59, according to Naperville police.

He was taken in serious condition to Edward Hospital, police said.

The intersection was closed for more three and a half hours after the crash.

No charges or citations have been issued against the driver as of Monday afternoon.
