Foodie alert: You might want to tune in to the May 12 episode of the Cooking Channel’s “Cheap Eats,” when four Chicago spots will be featured.
They include:
— The Roost Carolina Kitchen, 455 N. Milwaukee (“The Stevie” $9, “a tower of fried chicken, biscuits, egg and bacon”; breakfast)
— Nottoli & Son, 7652 W. Belmont (the Italian beef sandwich combo, $5.75; lunch)
— Hendrickx Belgium Bread Crafter, 100 E. Walton, (“a killer chocolate-almond croissant,” $3.75; snack)
— Luella’s Southern Kitchen, 4609 N. Lincoln (“Forever Braised Short Rib Mac and Cheese,” $12; dinner)
The show, which will airs at 8 p.m., features food blogger Ali Khan as he travels the country in search of the best cheap eats on a budget of $35 for three hearty meal items and one snack item (in a 12-hour visit to each city).
