When the Cubs arrived in Cincinnati for the beginning of a three-game series, they were greeted by a foul-smell emitting from the clubhouse.
According to ESPN Chicago, the smell of stale booze lingered three days after the Mets celebrated an NL East championship in the locker room with a champagne shower.

75 bottles of champagne were used during the celebration, according to NJ.com. The team set up fans in an attempt to dry the carpet the next morning, the report said.
The Cubs had a similar celebration last weekend in Wrigley after clinching a wild-card spot.
With NL Central bottom-feeders Milwaukee and Cincinnati remaining on the schedule, the Cubs have an outside shot at earning the NL’s top wild-card spot, and hosting the wild-card game on Oct. 7.
The Pirates, currently holding down the top wild card, have games against St. Louis and Cincinnati remaining.
