Authorities have identified a man who was shot to death last week in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Officers responding at 11:48 p.m. July 18 to a call of a person shot in the 6300 block of South Parnell found 24-year-old Kashawn Johnson lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Johnson, who lived in the 400 block of East 109th Street, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:43 a.m. July 19, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.
