A 33-year-old man was shot during a robbery in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 8:10 p.m., the man was leaving his friend’s house in the 600 block of North Leclaire when someone came out from behind a tree, shot him, then demanded money, according to Chicago Police. The victim complied, and the suspect ran away.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the lower left leg and took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
