A man was shot to death Monday evening in southwest suburban Palos Heights.

Murad Talib, 39, was shot about 5 p.m. in the 7300 block of West Ishnala Drive, according to Palos Heights police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Details on the circumstances of the shooting were unknown.

Telib, who lived in Tinley Park, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m., authorities said. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.

The shooter drove off in a vehicle, police said.

“We do not believe this to be a random incident and we don’t believe that there is any threat to the community,” police said in a statement.
