A man was found shot to death Tuesday evening on the border of the Gresham and Wrightwood neighborhoods on the Southwest Side.

Fred Jackson, a 28-year-old man from Gresham, was found about 5:15 p.m. lying face down in a parking lot in the 7800 block of South Western, according to Chicago police. He had suffered a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and pronounced dead that afternoon, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy to determine the cause of death was scheduled for Wednesday.
