A 43-year-old man was wounded in a shooting Friday evening in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.
About 5:30 p.m., the man was walking down the street in the 6900 block of South Lafayette Avenue when he heard gunfire and realized he was shot, according to Chicago police.
He was struck in the leg and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, police said. No one was in custody.
