Moon Alert

We have the all clear to shop and do business. The Moon is in Cancer.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Your focus is on home and family. Actually, you will feel the need to hide a bit and cocoon at home because you want to escape the busy insanity of everything around you. That’s just fine. Good luck.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

You might be a bit moody. It’s easy to be angry in the morning but later in the day, you might be a bit confused. If this is the case, then tread carefully. Don’t stick your neck out. Think before you make any promises.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

You might be impulsive about spending money or making financial decisions this morning. Do be careful because as the day wears on, you will do your best to convince yourself that you did the right thing. And hey — maybe you did. But maybe you didn’t.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

The Moon is in your sign, which makes you a bit moody and more emotional than usual. However, the good news is that when the Moon is in your sign (which it is for two days every month) you are luckier than all the other signs — just a bit. Yay!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

You might want to keep a low profile at work because you feel private. You’ve been popular lately and today feels like a good time to catch your breath and get your bearings. You might even learn a few secrets.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

A conversation with a female friend will be intense . You might be at odds if this conversation takes place in the morning. However, later in the day, you will be sympathetic, and, yet, confused about something. All in all, it’s an up-and-down day.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Personal details about your private life might be public. Do you need to do some damage control? Discussions with bosses, parents and teachers might be a tad aggressive this morning. Easy does it. Remember which side your bread is buttered on.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

You want to get away from it all! You need an escape and a change of scenery. Travel if you can; you can, explore your own backyard. Go to an ethnic restaurant, see parts of your city that you didn’t know about before to satisfy your urge for a fresh stimulation.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Minor squabbles about shared property or who is responsible for what might take place this morning. (Especially taking out the garbage.) However, you might have some good ideas about dealing with taxes, debt or the responsibilities for someone else.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Because the Moon is opposite your sign, you have to go more than halfway when dealing with others. It’s not a big deal. You simply have to be patient and accommodating and, of course, courteous. The payoff will be immediate because you’ll be happy, and so will someone else.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Your focus will be on getting things organized, especially at work. If someone gets in your way this morning, you won’t be happy. As the day wears on, you will feel calmer, perhaps to the point that you’re sympathetic about something or downright confused! Don’t sign anything without reading it.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Be patient with kids this morning because patience will make a difference. Feelings of irritation will be brief, and as the day wears on, you will feel playful and eager for fun. Meet someone for lunch if you can, or check in with Happy Hour at the end of the day!

If Your Birthday Is Today

Actor Mark Wahlberg (1971) shares your birthday. You are friendly, caring and compassionate. People like you. You have high energy and a winning style. Congratulations because this is your time of harvest. Now you will begin to reap the benefits of your efforts in the last decade. This is why you will enjoy an increased influence and leadership in your relationships. You deserve this time of success.

The Latest
The massive pop culture convention runs through Sunday at McCormick Place.
With all the important priorities the state has to tackle, why should Springfield rush to help the billionaire McCaskey family build a football stadium? The answer: They shouldn’t. The arguments so far don’t convince us this project would truly benefit the public.
Art
“Chryssa & New York” is the first museum show in North America in more than four decades to spotlight the artist. It also highlights her strong ties to Chicago’s art world.
If these plans for new stadiums from the Bears, White Sox and Red Stars are going to have even a remote chance of passage, teams will have to drastically scale back their state asks and show some tangible benefits for state taxpayers.
The Bears put the figure at $4.7 billion. But a state official says the tally to taxpayers goes even higher when you include the cost of refinancing existing debt.
