Moon Alert

Avoid shopping or major decisions from 3:15 p.m. 7 p.m. Chicago time. After that, the moon moves from Libra into Scorpio.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Today has its challenges, especially dealing with bosses, parents and authority figures (this includes the police). For starters, this afternoon and later, is a moon alert. Don’t do anything important during that time. Don’t push the river.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Avoid controversial subjects like politics, religion and racial issues because they will not go well. (There are none so deaf as those who are wearing headphones.) Furthermore, this afternoon and later, there’s a Moon Alert — be aware of this.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Children might be an increased responsibility. Authority figures are challenging — no question. Take it easy because a moon alert is in place in the afternoon or later — see above. Nevertheless, don’t hesitate to explore creative ideas because you are in touch with these.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Although you will be happy to hide and cocoon at home, difficulties with authority figures including partners, parents and older relatives might arise. Agree to nothing important during the moon alert. And never underestimate the power of courtesy.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

It’s easy to fall into worry mode. The truth is that most of the things we worry about never happen. (I say this hypocritically because I’m a worrier.) Oy vey. “Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but gets you nowhere.”

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Your financial situation might stress you out today. (No money, no funny.) However, things look worse than they really are. Saturn is in the picture and Saturn always hangs black crepe paper everywhere. Relax. However, restrict spending during the moon alert to food, gas and entertainment.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Today the moon is in your sign at odds with Saturn, which can create a fleeting depression. “Nobody loves me.” “Are my ankles thick?” This influence can also create problems in relationships. But hey, it all boils down to negative thinking. Be aware of the Moon Alert. (See above.)

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Today life looks worse than it really is. It’s like putting on the wrong pair of sunglasses. (Aagghh!) But this is temporary — a fleeting dark cloud on your horizons. Tomorrow is actually a happy day! Go with that. Go with what works.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

An important conversation with a female acquaintance might be a bummer experience. You might feel judged or criticized. Or maybe you are the judge or the critic? Either way, let this go because tomorrow is a lovely day. Be aware of the restrictions of the moon alert.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This is a poor day to ask for approval or permission from any authority figure — bosses, parents, teachers, VIPs or the police. Their response will probably be, “Talk to the hand.” Knowing this ahead of time, don’t even ask. Check out the moon alert to be in the know.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Teachers and professors, as well as religious figures, might be on your case today. Or perhaps someone is holding up the Book of Rules. “You can’t do this.” Do not be discouraged. This is just a temporary setback. Tomorrow is up better day. Definitely.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This is a poor day to ask for a loan or mortgage or to ask to borrow something from someone because doors will be closed to you. Just accept this and don’t even go there. Not today. Do not feel discouraged with your fair share of something. Tomorrow things are much better!

If Your Birthday Is Today

Singer/activist Peter Gabriel (1950) shares your birthday. You are friendly, levelheaded, easy-going and prudent. You are also an intelligent communicator. It’s time to identify goals because you’re entering a year of exciting new beginnings! What do you want for yourself in the next several years? Be pro-active about going after what you want. This year you will be physically energetic!
