Suffering a season-ending injury shortly before a second chance to play in the Super Bowl is a hard pill to swallow, but it was the only beginning for Charles Tillman.

Apparently, the hits just keep on coming.

The longtime Bears defender appears to be taking his misfortune in stride and definitely deserves some credit for remaining optimistic following his injury.

In a pre-Super Bowl interview with Fox Sports Radio, the 2013 Walter Payton Man of the Year said being forced to miss the big game wasn’t difficult at all.

Tillman – who tore his ACL in Week 17 – watched from the sidelines as Denver defeated Carolina 24-10 on Sunday.

He told reporters Tuesday that he hopes to return to the Panthers next season.
