A man is in custody after a woman was shot at a gas station Tuesday in northwest Indiana.

Officers were called about 3:50 p.m. to a Citgo gas station near the intersection of 169th Street and Indianapolis Boulevard, Hammond police said. The woman was shot inside the vehicle and taken to an area hospital.

A child was also in the vehicle but wasn’t injured, police said.

Investigators believe the shooting was “related to a domestic dispute,” police said.
