A 14-year-old boy was wounded Friday night in a shooting near 31st Street Beach.

It happened about 8:50 p.m., in the 3100 block of South Lake Shore Drive, according to Chicago police.

The boy suffered a gunshot wound to his left thigh and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in fair condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
