WASHINGTON–Four years ago, Obama and the Clintons were battling over the Democratic presidential nomination; on Friday President Obama tapped Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill and Secretary of State Hillary, for a delegation to the women’s world cup finals in Germany.

The delegation, led by Dr. Jill Biden, will attend the Women’s World Cup Final on July 17, 2011 between the U.S.and Japan.

U.S. ambassador to Germany, Philip D. Murphy will also be at the game.

Chelsea Clinton keeps a low public profile–except for her wedding last year. This is her first government appointment.
