A man wearing a Darth Vader mask robbed a bank at gunpoint Friday afternoon in the far western suburbs.

About 2:30 p.m., he walked into the First American Bank branch at 1789 Randall Road in Geneva and forced a teller to hand over an unspecified amount of cash, according to the FBI.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound black man showed a handgun, but no one was hurt, authorities said.

He is thought to be in his 40s and was wearing an orange shirt with tan pants. He donned a nylon stocking over his head, along with a mask styled after the infamous Star Wars movie villain, authorities said.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
