Police are searching for a man who tried to lure an 11-year-old girl Wednesday in Hermosa on the Northwest Side.

The man approached the girl about 5:30 p.m. as she waited outside a home in the 2200 block of North Tripp Avenue, Chicago police said.

He spoke to her in Spanish “with the intention of luring her to go with him,” but the girl fled, police said.

Police described the suspect as a man in his early 40s with short, dark hair wearing baggy jeans and a dark shirt.
