A 46-year-old man was arrested after beating several children on a playground near the Ogden International School of Chicago Tuesday morning on the Near North Side, police said.

He injured several children in the 11 a.m. attack in the first block of West Walton, according to police, who said it happened off the grounds of the grade school at 24 W. Walton St.

The children were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Charges were pending against the man Tuesday night.
