Moon Alert

Avoid shopping or making important decisions from 3 to 8 a.m. Chicago time — and again after 8:15 p.m. Today the moon moves from Cancer into Leo.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Today might begin with tension with an authority figure, especially regarding kids. Or there might be difficulty in romance? Fortunately, this morphs into a lovely, fun-loving day where you will enjoy the company of everyone, especially kids. (And lovers.)

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

In the early morning, you might find yourself at odds with a parent, boss or in authority figure. Or is it rules and regulations that trip you up? Fear not because as the day wears on, it gets better. In particular, relations with family members will be warm and friendly.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This is a good time to buy wardrobe goodies for yourself. This applies to the entire week, except don’t shop during our moon alert! This morning you might be at odds with someone. Keep things light because later in the day, everything is fine.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Financial difficulties might occur at the beginning of the day. Ironically, as the day wears on, this looks like a strong money day for you. Look for ways to boost your income or make money on the side. You might even attract money to you?

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

The moon is in your sign, which definitely makes you more emotional than usual. Keep your hat on. Avoid arguments with authority figures or someone older this morning. Later in the day, you are popular and everyone wants you on their team. This is no surprise.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

It might be tough dealing with someone older or perhaps a boss this morning. Don’t take this to heart because it’s a brief encounter. Later in the day, the support of someone important will give you a warm feeling in your tummy. It’s nice to know someone has your back. (And your front.)

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

You might find it difficult dealing with someone older this morning. Relax, because as the day wears on, relations with others are excellent. In particular, you will enjoy interacting with someone “different” or someone from another culture. This might encourage you to travel?

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Today you are high visibility and might have difficulty dealing with someone older, perhaps at home. Fortunately, this is brief. Later, you look fabulous in the eyes of everyone! You will be admired and asked for your input about how to improve something.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Steer clear of early morning squabbles about politics, religion and race. Later in the day, opportunities to travel or explore something in the media, publishing, medicine or the law will please you. Might this be a chance to get further education?

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

A minor dispute about possessions, shared property or money might occur in the early morning. No worries because it’s over fast. Later in the day, you might be able to get assistance or an increased budget or help with material or funds from someone else. Bonus!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Be patient with partners, spouses and close friends this morning. Give someone else some space. As the day wears on, you will enjoy schmoozing with others be they close friends, partners or members of the general public. In fact, you feel flirtatious!

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Work squabbles might arise this morning. (Hey, you don’t need this.) But as the day wears on, you will get along famously with coworkers and customers. (Go figure.) In particular, you might use today to make your work space look more attractive.

If Your Birthday Is Today

TV host Randy Jackson (1956) shares your birthday. You are creative, ambitious and driven. You are also thoughtful, caring and sensitive. This year you see that service to others, especially within your family, is important. This is why you must take care of yourself so that you are a strong resource for yourself and others. Look around you and invest in the relationships that you value. Hang out with quality people.
