A West Side man is facing gun charges after a Saturday afternoon drive-by shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood.

Reginald Jackson, 27, faces one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the 12:16 p.m. shooting, according to Chicago Police.

A 21-year-old man was leaving a building in the 3100 block of West Roosevelt when someone in a blue car driving by fired shots in his direction, police said. The vehicle then sped away.

The man was shot in the right arm and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious “but stable” condition, police said.

Officers spotted a similar vehicle driving from the scene and tried to stop it. Two people got out and ran away but were caught after a short chase, police said.

Jackson, of the 4900 block of West Chicago, was arrested, while the other person was released without charges, police said.

Jackson was jailed on a $75,000 bond at a Monday hearing, according to Cook County Circuit Court records. He is due in court again Dec. 23.
