At least three people were killed and four others wounded Wednesday in citywide gun violence.
Two of the men were killed in a shooting about 9:30 p.m. in the West Englewood neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 6600 block of South Oakley Avenue and found three men shot inside an SUV in an empty lot, police said. Two of the men were pronounced dead at the scene. The third was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the back.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released the identities of the men killed.
The other man was killed in an attack about 7:23 a.m. in the East Garfield Park neighborhood that also wounded two others.
Officers found David McDaniel, 23, of Austin, was shot multiple times in the 400 block of North Hamlin and took him to Stroger Hospital, where he died hours later, authorities said. Another man, 24, was shot in the left shoulder and was also taken to Stroger. The third man, 25, suffered a graze wound and was treated at the scene.
A 32-year-old man was also in critical condition after being shot in the chest about 10:41 p.m. in the East Chatham neighborhood on the Far South Side.
On Tuesday, at least four people were wounded by gunfire in Chicago, three of whom died afterward.
