Guillermo Caballero Jr. was trying to drive home from a party early Sunday when violent participants of a street takeover, including one who jumped on the hood of his car, fatally shot him in the 2300 block of West 59th Street.

Former Chicago Police Officer Carlos Yanez said his right eye had to be removed, and there is a lump on his neck, below his right ear, where a bullet remains because doctors believe it too dangerous to remove.
Police say a woman, 39, was arguing with a man Monday morning at an apartment when she pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the stomach. He died at a hospital.
The 31-year-old man was found outside in the 5900 block of South Ada Street, police said.
Tracey Cooper, 19, was in the 1300 block of West 73rd Street when he was shot, police said.
